Your own bookings

Polly is happy to be approached about private celebrations or public events. She will discuss your needs and the cost on a case by case basis, but here is some general information.

The ROTUNDA is a 30ft diameter round building, with a mezzanine first floor. It was originally built as a museum to house the previous owner’s collection of antique doll’s houses. Audience capacity is around 60 with clear view of the performance area, or for gatherings, about 100. It is a wonderful venue for one man shows, book launches, poetry events, acoustic music concerts, stand up comedy etc.

The Rotunda has an extraordinary acoustic, and amplification is usually unnecessary. Although the rotunda does not have its own water supply or cooking facilities, 2 toilets with wash hand basins are available nearby. There is also a store room in which cold food and drinks can be prepared. Heating is from the wood pellet boiler, and plentiful electric sockets are available.

The main house and gardens are also sometimes
available for larger gatherings such as weddings etc (up to 150 guests). Amplified music outside or in a marquee is not possible, for the sake of the neighbours, but the hot tub and bonfire space can be made available by special arrangement.

Smaller seminars (up to 20 people) may be held in the large group room in the main house.
Tableware, trestle tables & seating can be provided for up to 50 people; further supplies can be ordered from www.milliemiles.co.uk

Pippa Hamwee, Polly’s stepsister, caters all the events Polly organises at Grove House. Her food is beautifully presented, delicious and very good value.
